PhasorToolBox — A Python Package for Synchrophasor Application Prototyping

As the open source computer software community growing rapidly, the development of synchrophasor applications has not rapidly emerged as of 2017, the year when this project started. This project proposes a development package for quick prototyping of synchrophasor applications using Python programming language. This package can be used to retrieve data from any device that adopts the IEEE C37.118.2-2011 standard. The package provides a high-level interface for developers to quick prototyping. Advanced synchrophasor applications can be easily developed. The asynchronous design pattern makes the packet robust to handle a high volume of I/O without compromising real-time performance.
